more .... 15 ... Tintagel



Tintagel was the mythical birthplace of King Arthur. It is an amazingly-sited castle with one section on a headland and a later castle on the mainland. Part of the mainland section has subsided to the beaches below. Lots of steps to climb but worth the effort. The post office in the village is supposedly the oldest in Britain, or at least it looks so.
