Caenarfon Castle was one of 6 castles built in the late 13thC by Edward I to pacify the Welsh. It is a fairly well-preserved shell and some inside rooms have been restored for museum, etc. Still used formally and Prince of Wales was inaugurated here. Lots of ancient steps to climb, ramparts to walk and battlements to look out from. Good fun!
